Every quarter, JNA offers an opportunity to volunteer at Shepherd’s Table, serving individuals currently experiencing challenging life circumstances. The next opportunity to volunteer
is May 28, 2020 when we will be serving brunch.
Since 1983, Shepherd’s Table has been a necessary and effective resource welcoming and serving those, within Silver Spring, experiencing a unique set of challenges, from homelessness, unemployment, mental health challenges, substance abuse, physical disabilities, and more. Shepherd’s Table is largely supported by private donations from individuals, businesses, foundations, and religious organizations.
Shepherd’s Table is open, providing modified meal services during the COVID-19 pandemic and Resource Center services. Visit their website or call 301-585-6463 for more information as well as to learn about their mission and getting involved.
Volunteering at Shepherd’s Table is organized by the Cultural Heritage & Social Activities Committee Co-Chairs: Moye Stephenson-Fairweather, Beverly Thomas, & Jennifer Wilson
