Supporting JNA’s Student Scholarships

JNA’s history is closely tied to education as it was founded by Jamaican students attending colleges in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area (WMA) over fifty years ago. Over the years, through its scholarship and leadership program, JNA has continued this close relationship with that student community.

Through our Leadership & Book Support Scholarships, JNA is committed to helping to build the next generation of leaders who will give back to the community. This year, the Student Outreach & Educational Support (SOES) Committee is targeting raising $25,000 for scholarships for students of Jamaican heritage attending colleges in the WMA.

In the past, JNA awarded its scholarships at its annual Student Leadership Awards & Networking Reception, and most of the funding for these scholarships was raised around this event. The 2020 awards are scheduled for October 2020, but the SOES Committee is considering alternate virtual events or other activities to reach its funding goal. Please email info@jnaofdc.org with any suggestions you have and/or donate to the scholarship fund online.

This program is led by the Student Outreach & Leadership (SOES) Committee, which is co-chaired by Jennifer Asher and Yasmin Anderson-Smith
