Dear Members of the Diaspora,
As part of the Government’s efforts to create a safer and secure environment for all Jamaicans, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade has given its support the establishment of a Returning Residents Task-force in July of this year. The objective of the Task-force is to address myriad issues of the Returning Residents community, including safety, security and customs. The Task-force consists of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Ministry of National Security, Jamaica Customs Agency and Returning Residents Associations from across the island.
A deliverable of Task-force is the publication of the Safety and Security Handbook by the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force for those Jamaicans seeking to return home and those who have already returned. The Handbook is now completed and is forwarded for your attention.
We look forward to receiving your feedback, if any, on the document which will be shared with the JCF.
